I could kick my self for not bringing my camera to the places I have been to so far. Unfortunately, all of these photos are taken from other websites. Sorted by price low to high.
Steven's Creek County Park, Santa Clara: $300 (I think) rental fee from 8am to sunset
They have two picnic areas that are perfect for a casual outdoor ceremony and reception; Sycamore and Madrone. Both very nice an right off Monte Bello Road with their own bathrooms, picnic area and barbeque. The Sycamore has something that could be an gazebo for the ceremony but with the proximity of the volleyball poles... Matt and I weren't sure how it would work out.
Sanborn County Park, Saratoga: $465 rental fee from 8am to sunset
Perterson's grove is a redwood amphitheater (a deck build in the center of a circle of redwood trees). The parking is very close, as well as the partially covered picnic area. sccgov.org
Memorial Park, Cupertino: $?
A very public park outfitted with a pond (that wasn't filled when we went) and a gazebo in the middle. yelp.com
Cypress Hotel, Cupertino: $3,000 (ceremony & reception rental fee, + a f&b minimum)
A commuter hotel with an interesting take on modern decor. At $80-100 a night group fee, it's a fair price for high quality. The location, however, isn't as close to entertainment as the website makes you thing. And!!! the best fro-yo I've ever been to, Tartini, is right next door. (yummm...mango tart...) thecypresshotel.com
Grand Island Mansion, Walnut Grove: $2,750 (ceremony & reception)
Well kept historical mansion with a pool, tennis/b-ball court, theater and 13 rooms that can be rented out to your guest at $150-300 a night. The bowling alley and gym on their website is only for looks. The rooms are kind of cramped but the rest of the house is very spacious. The decor has a light dose of victorian/italian, but not as ornate as I expected. I beautiful place way out in the cuts. I'd also like to add, some of the locked doors with windows to hidden stairways is a little creepy. grandislandmansion.com
Allied Arts Guild, Menlo Park: $6-8,000-ceremony & reception, $2,000-ceremony only
It seems very private (yet actually public) and the grounds are beautiful. Spanish colonial architecture, lush gardens, water fountains and artist workshops makes this place ooze with character and romance. I'm considering this place for my ceremony, but the price is a bit high for us. alliedartsguild.org
Wine & Roses, Lodi:
Nice garden for ceremony and reception hall. It's definitely a hidden gem for those that can afford the $9,000 food and beverage minimum (not including tax & gratuity)! They have a full service spa that can do hair and makeup which is very convenient. Too bad it's out of our budget. By early 2010, they will have completed the additional 100-ish rooms, and other amenities. winerose.com
Nestdown, Los gatos: $6-10,000 (ceremony & reception rental fee, ceremony $ varies per #of guest)
Gorgeous, whimsical, fairytale-like location. Visit this place and prepare to instantly fall in love with it's charm. The redwood amphitheater (as well as the reception barn) is unmatched by anyplace I've seen and the photos on the website are surprisingly accurate to how beautiful this place really is. The drive is just as nice to look at, but not to drive—ugh, winding mountains, plus the venue is easy to miss. nestldown.com/wedding.html
